Mr. Khaldoun Bitar

Mr. Khaldoun Bitar is a highly experienced Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon based in Wolverhampton, specialising in hip and knee surgery. With over 20 years of clinical expertise, he focuses on joint replacement, revision procedures, and complex lower limb trauma. As a high-volume surgeon, Mr. Bitar performs a large number of procedures annually—something reflected in his strong outcomes listed on the National Joint Registry (NJR).

He qualified in 2004 and completed his specialist training in trauma and orthopaedics in the United Kingdom. In 2016, he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, a testament to his commitment to the highest standards in surgical practice. His advanced fellowships in trauma and joint replacement surgery ensure he remains at the forefront of the latest techniques and innovations.

Mr. Bitar is known for using a minimally invasive approach to hip replacement, which reduces soft tissue disruption, minimises post-operative pain, and significantly speeds up recovery. In 2022, he pioneered same-day hip replacement surgery in Wolverhampton, allowing suitable patients to return home the same day as their procedure.

Patient-First Philosophy

Mr. Bitar strongly believes that the best surgical outcomes are achieved when care is built around the individual, not just the condition. His patient-first philosophy is rooted in listening carefully, setting realistic goals together, and ensuring patients are fully informed and confident at every stage of their journey.

From the initial consultation through to recovery, Mr. Bitar prioritises open, honest communication. He takes the time to explain treatment options in clear, understandable language—empowering patients to make decisions that suit their lifestyle, needs, and expectations.

Every treatment plan is tailored, with a focus on minimising disruption and maximising long-term results. Whether it’s selecting a minimally invasive approach, offering same-day discharge where appropriate, or ensuring comprehensive post-operative support, Mr. Bitar’s goal is to deliver care that is as compassionate as it is clinically effective.

He understands that surgery can be a daunting experience, and makes it a priority to create a calm, respectful environment where patients feel heard, supported, and reassured. This commitment continues beyond the operating theatre, with follow-up care and rehabilitation strategies designed to support a safe, confident return to daily life and activity.

Ultimately, Mr. Bitar’s approach is guided by a simple principle: treat every patient the way you would want your own family to be treated—with respect, integrity, and a relentless focus on the best possible outcome.

Teaching and Innovation

In addition to his clinical work, Mr. Bitar is a GMC-recognised trainer and serves as an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Birmingham Medical School. He is passionate about educating future orthopaedic surgeons and sharing the values of precision, compassion, and continuous improvement. He remains actively involved in advancing surgical techniques and is committed to lifelong learning and innovation in orthopaedic care.

Mr. Bitar holds a medical degree with distinction and has authored several publications in peer-reviewed journals on orthopaedic and trauma surgery. His ongoing research focuses on enhancing recovery protocols and improving surgical outcomes in hip and knee arthroplasty.
